Flash flood warnings have been issued for Southeastern Kansas, Central Missouri, and Illinois today as a cold front slams into a warm and tropical air mass. Temperatures behind the front are dropping to the 50s, then 40s and 30s in some locations across Nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming and the Dakotas. You can find the latest temperatures, watches and warnings from local TV stations by visiting them on my website. Click on the GET YOUR LOCAL TV FORECAST tab on the bottom righthand side of your screen.

The deep South is BURNING HOT. It’s almost the middle of October, and record heat is hitting the Southern States. You can see from the map above the mild weather stretches into the central Midwest and Northeast.

This clash between the hot, humid air mass and frigid artic front is a set up for severe weather across the Central Plains. Besides flooding rains, Kansas, Oklahoma Arkansas, Texas, Missouri and Illinois could all see severe weather today into tomorrow. Texas and Louisiana will be at risk Friday.
