The picture you are looking at is a computer model forecast for Friday morning. Hot air is going to pile back into the Southeastern United States and Mid-Atlantic region today and tomorrow after a weak cold front moved through yesterday. A much stronger cold front is setting up over the mid-section by Friday morning, and there is a chance for severe weather over portions of Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Oklahoma and Texas. Today, portions of those states are under flash flood warnings from the frontal crossing yesterday. Before the next cold front comes through, a warm and tropical air mass straight in from the Gulf of Mexico will glide in over the Southeastern States, creating the setup for severe weather on Thursday and Friday. Watch your local TV forecasters for the latest in severe weather warnings.

Wind shear (a change in wind speed or direction with height) is weakening TS Henri in the Atlantic.
