Mop up the Mid-Atlantic, Invest 99L is Being Watched
More rain is forecast for the Ohio and Tennessee River Valleys this afternoon. There’s not a whole lot going on this midday, but this weekend, the mop up will continue in many portions of the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic. Nashville forecaster’s have the latest on the potential for flash flooding there. Right now, there’s a pretty heave cell near Memphis.

The National Hurricane Center is watching this area of showers and thunderstorms west of the Cape Verde Islands in the Eastern Atlantic. Now called Invest 99L, it looks pretty healthy this morning. It may become the next tropical depression of the 2009 season. But, dry and air wind shear will limit it’s development. Global computer models haven’t picked up its development. But, I’ll be watching it!
The Guiberson Fire in Ventura County, California is 75% contained this morning! Here’s a link to the Los Angeles Times Photo Gallery of the fire and events related to the fire. At least 25 homes are still threatened.
